This is a summary statement of what we believe as the family of Faith Bible Church. It serves as the foundation for our Christian faith, worship, service, and life. A fuller statement is contained in our church constitution and is available upon request.

 The Holy Scriptures:

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and inerrant in the original autographs. It is our unchanging standard for absolute truth and it is authoritative for our lives.   II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:160, 89

 The Godhead:

We believe there is only one true, triune God who exists in three eternal and co-equal persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They each possess the same divine attributes and glory and they are equally worthy of our worship and obedience. Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14

 God the Father:

We believe God the Father is the Father over all creation, Israel, our Lord Jesus Christ, and all believers in Jesus Christ who He has graciously chosen from eternity past to be His adopted children. These people, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He eternally saves from sin and draws to Himself through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Acts 17:23-29; John 3:16; John 1:12-13; Ephesians 1:4,6; Romans 8:15

 God the Son:

We believe that in our Lord Jesus Christ dwells the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form. His deity and humanity are inseparably united forever. He, who existed eternally as God, took upon Himself human form when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born through the Virgin Mary. He came into our world to reveal God to us and redeem sinful men through His sacrificial and substitutionary death on the cross. In physical, bodily form, He rose from the dead, ascended back into heaven, is now our great High Priest-Intercessor and one day will come again in power and great glory. Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:6-8; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14-18; Romans 3:24-25; 4:25; I Peter 1:3-5; Matthew 28:1-15; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; I John 2:1-2

 God the Holy Spirit:

We believe the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, has the special ministry of convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and causes believers to be `born again, places them into the spiritual Body of Christ, indwells them, seals them in their position in Jesus Christ and teaches and guides them through life. John 16:8-11; II Corinthians 3:6; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14; John 16:13

The Creation and Fall of Man:

We believe the Bible teaches that man, was created in the image of God, and `in’ Adam, rebelled against God in sin and that Adam’s sinful condition has been imputed to all the human race resulting in man’s spiritual and physical death. In his position in Adam, man is separated from God, and can do nothing to commend himself to God.  Apart from Jesus Christ he is under the wrath of God and without hope of salvation from his sin. Genesis 1;26-27; 3:1-21; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12,18; Ephesians 2:1-2,12

 Salvation by Grace:

We believe there is nothing man can do to save himself from his sinful condition and God’s judgment of him because of it. Man’s salvation is a gift from God by grace and received by personal faith in Jesus Christ as one’s Savior. The eternal security of the believer is based upon the same gracious power God exercised in saving the person. The assurance of one’s salvation is found in the testimony of God’s Word, the inner witness of the Holy Spirit and the pursuit of holy living. Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19; 2:24; Ephesians 1:4-11; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Peter 1:5; Jude 1:24-25; Titus 2:11-15

 The Church of Jesus Christ:

We believe the Church of Jesus Christ is made up of all `born again’ Christians. It began on the Day of Pentecost, is distinct from the nation Israel, and will continue on and be completed at the coming of our Lord Jesus to take His church out of this world. Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27; Acts 2:1-21; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Ordinances:

We believe the ordinances of the Church of Jesus Christ are two, believers’ baptism and communion. Baptism is a public profession of the believer’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Jesus Christ as their Savior. It is a beautiful picture of the believer’s spiritual death, burial, and resurrection to new (eternal) life in Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3-6 Communion is the believer’s remembrance and proclamation of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ until He comes again. The elements of the bread and the juice are only symbolic reminders to the believers of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus that He sacrificed upon the cross for us. Participation in communion should be preceded by a solemn time of self-examination to insure one’s spiritual fitness to take of the elements. Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 11:23-32

The II Coming of Jesus Christ:

We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-millennial coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to establish His promised, millennial kingdom here on the earth. When Jesus returns, Satan, the Anti-Christ, and False Prophet will have been removed from the earth and all the resurrected saints will reign with Him over all the nations of the world. Acts 1:10-11; 2:29-30; Revelation 20:1-7; Ezekiel 37:21-28; Daniel 7:17-27; Revelation 19:11-16

The Eternal  State:

We believe that after the millennial reign of Jesus Christ on the earth there will be a bodily resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to the experience of the judgment of God and everlasting punishment. The saved will live in the new heavens and the new earth in glorified bodies and in the presence of our Lord Jesus forevermore. The unsaved will suffer in agony and torment in the `Lake of Fire’ And God will be all in all. John 11:25-26; Luke 16:19-26; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:5-15; I Corinthians 15:24-28; 21:1-22:5
